Club Willing To ‘Listen To Offers’ As Arsenal Consider £50M Swoop For Ex Chelsea And Liverpool Player

Bournemouth are prepared to “listen to offers” for Arsenal target Dominic Solanke, according to the Daily Star.

The English tabloid claims that the former Chelsea and Liverpool striker is the Gunners’ main alternative if they can’t secure the signature of Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

With Mikel Arteta’s side having issues with Financial Fair Play, they may be forced into abandoning a move for Toney, who could cost £80m.

Solanke, on the other hand, is valued at £50m, and he would therefore be a more realistic target for the January transfer window.

The Bournemouth striker has been in excellent form this season

Solanke has hit the back of the net 8 times in 16 Premier League appearances for the Cherries, averaging a goal every other game. He also scored against Luton at the weekend before the match had to be abandoned.

It must be said that his overall goal record is not as impressive as Toney’s but, if Solanke were to make the move to the Emirates in January, he would be able to hit the ground running, unlike the Brentford forward who hasn’t played since May.

Will Arsenal have rivals for Solanke?

West Ham are believed to have tabled a bid for the England international last summer, but the offer was knocked back by Bournemouth at the time.

It is thought that the Hammers could make a second attempt to sign Solanke next month, with Michail Antonio injured and Danny Ings struggling for form. However, David Moyes’s side are having the same issues with FFP as Arsenal and they may need to sell some players before they make an approach for the striker.

In terms of Arsenal’s stance, a move for Solanke may only happen if they can’t find enough funds for Toney, but we shall see how this transfer story plays out.
