Arsenal Told 21.5M Will Be Enough To Sign Dutch Star Who Has Been Told He’s Not Part Of His Manager’s Plans

Memphis Depay has been told he is not part of Barcelona manager Xavi’s plans for the new season and he is free to leave the Camp Nou this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Arsenal, West Ham and Everton have all been credited with an interest in the Dutch international, and it appears that a move is now a distinct possibility before the transfer window closes.

Barca are believed to be holding out for at least €25m (£21.5m) to sell Depay, which is still a reasonable price for a player who has less than one year remaining on his contract.

The Gunners may well be tempted to make a bid for the 28-year-old, especially as their attempts to secure the services of Leeds winger Raphinha have hit the buffers.

Although Depay did flatter to deceive during his last stint in England with Manchester United, he has improved massively since then, and his ability to play right across the frontline would make him a useful squad option.
