Arsenal To Sign Lightning-Fast Striker

Arsenal To Sign Lightning-Fast Striker

Wenger’s interest in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has resurfaced as the Gunners need to replace Sanogo who is on his way to Ajax.

With a price of £35million strapped to Lacazette’s back and with Benzema’s situation quite uncertain, Arsenal have directed their attention towards the Bundesliga where Dortmund’s Aubameyang might emerge as an option for the Gunners’ attack. According to Squawka, the 26 year old who started off as a second striker or a winger, is now one of the most interesting strikers out there. Next to Reus, he stood out last season and managed to find the net 16 times in 33 games. He contributed to creating 45 chances and served his teammates with 6 assists.

The issue now is how much is Wenger willing to pay? If Dortmund ask for more than £15million, then he is not actually worth the effort. It would be more productive to try and bring someone who could actually challenge Giroud and Welbeck and not be on the same level with them. Sure, it is great to have options but Arsenal would be better off staying with two strikers and signing a left winger or another defender rather than a no.9 with similar scoring abilities to that of the team’s current forwards.

Gabon’s captain is under contract with Dortmund until 2018 and the problem is he might not be allowed to leave unless a really impressive offer comes Borussia’s way. They have already sent Immobile to Sevilla for the next year and Reus might be leaving too. If rumors are true and Wenger does decide to try and transfer Aubameyang, he will need to pay extra which is not one of the things the Frenchman is known for.
