Arsenal To Send Scouts To See £10m Rated Championship Defender In Action Today

Arsenal and Manchester United are among the teams interested in Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey, according to reports in the English media.

The 21-year-old is also attracting interest from abroad with Lyon and RB Leipzig said to be keen on the £10m rated centre-back.

All four teams will reportedly have scouts in attendance when Norwich face Ipswich in the East Anglian derby this afternoon.

Godfrey did not start out in Canaries boss Daniel Farke’s first-team plans at the start of the season. The player only started his first league game of the season against Bolton in December.

Since the 3-1 win over the Trotters, however, he has not been left out of the side, helping Norwich to the summit of the Championship table.

Godfrey actually started out life as a holding midfielder in the club’s youth ranks, but he has shown his flexibility by playing both as a centre-half and at left-back this campaign.
