Arsenal To Let Podolski Leave?

Arsenal could let Lukas Podolski go in the last few weeks of the transfer window, with Turkish giants Galatasaray showing interest in signing the dynamic attacker before the clock runs down on the transfer window, according to Metro.

The big celebration for Arsenal fans this week will undoubtedly be their convincing 3-0 victory over rivals Manchester City in the FA Community Shield tie at Wembley. This is the perfect start to the long season ahead for the club, and Arsene Wenger will be pleased about another trophy after last year’s FA Cup win. Wenger will want to make use of the positive beginning to proceedings, and could be spurred to sign another big name before the end of August to ensure their attempt at the Barclays Premier League title does not fall short again.

Podolski joined the club in 2012 from FC Koln, but has been a bit-part player for Wenger, really only making an impression as an impact player off the bench. Despite being chosen for Joachim Loew’s World Cup winning squad in Brazil, Podolski only made appearances in the group stages. Arsenal have already added Alexis Sanchez to their strike force for the coming season, and Theo Walcott’s return from long term injury will again force the German out of the starting eleven. Podolski is yet to return from his extended break after the World Cup win, and will only join the rest of the squad this week.
