Arsenal To Exercise £8 million Buyout On Remy

According to the Mirror, Arsene Wenger will use his summer transfer kitty to increase his firepower in buying Loic Remy, who has an £8 million buyout fee in his contract with parent club Queens Park Rangers.

Arsenal have been lacking availability of strikers up front, and it could result in them not winning the Barclays Premier League crown. There has been immense pressure on Olivier Giroud to perform on a consistent basis, and even though the Frenchman managed to deliver in the first half of the season, he has tailed off some in the second half of the season. Yaya Sanogo has been given a chance to prove his mettle in the first team, and the injury to Theo Walcott hasn’t helped the manager either.

Remy has had a terrific season so far for Newcastle United, after the striker signed a year-long loan deal with the club he once rejected for a permanent transfer. United are close to a Europa League spot for next season, but Remy will be tempted with a chance to play in the UEFA Champions League with Arsenal, which he will find hard to turn down.
