Arsenal will be offered former Chelsea striker Gonzalo Higuain, Douglas Costa or Cristian Romero by Juventus in the Serie A club’s attempts to sign Alexandre Lacazette, according to reports in England.
The Gunners are considering whether to offload the Frenchman in order to free up the wage bill, but it is unlikely that the three players will be seen as attractive makeweights.
Higuain, 33, is well past his prime and Arsenal are likely to be looking for a younger replacement for Lacazette. Costa meanwhile has been linked to Manchester United in recent months, but the Gunners are not currently looking to sign another winger despite Mikel Arteta being an admirer of the Brazilian.
Romero would probably be the most attractive option as the London club need reinforcements in defence. However, the Argentine was sent out on loan last season to Genoa, where he didn’t have a great time, with his team finishing 17th and conceding 73 goals.
