Arsenal Target Manchester’s Danny Welbeck

Arsenal hope to solve their problems up front by bidding for Manchester United’s Danny Welbeck. The 23 year old who has always been a second choice at Man. United is no longer keen on struggling to become a team regular. With 139 appearances and 29 goals scored for his current team, he will be looking to take his business elsewhere in order to be able to grow as a player. According to Metro, the youngster demanded to leave if an offer comes his way before September. Apparently Van Gaal has agreed to let the player go as he is no longer part of his plans for the future.

Wenger, who has been watching Welbeck since he was sent on loan to Sunderland back in 2010, is now ready to make an offer for the England international. He seems to have the perfect qualities to provide Giroud with the needed competition. He also looks like the perfect solution for Arsenal’s problems in terms of attacking players. Currently, Sangogo is the only one who could replace Giroud. With Podolski set to leave, it would be difficult for Wenger to carry on through the season with just two strikers, one of which has proven a bit overwhelmed by the Premier League.

Giroud has done most all of the work up front during last season and needs some help. Welbeck could represent a great last minute solution after Balotelli and Cavani have become unavailable. The 23 year old will cost Arsenal £15million which is not a problem considering Arsenal’s impressive transfer budget.
