Arsenal have remained steadfast in keeping to their €25m (£22m) asking price for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Armenian international has been on loan at Roma this season and the Giallorossi are keen on keeping the midfielder on a permanent basis.
However, the Serie A club feel Mkhitaryan’s current price tag is too high considering his injury record since his move to Italy last summer.
The 31-year-old has only played 17 games this campaign due to muscular injuries and Roma’s sporting director Gianluca Petrachi is keen on getting a discount.
To break the impasse, Mkhitaryan’s agent Mino Raiola is reportedly looking to secure another season-long loan deal, but he is keen to ensure there is an obligation to buy so both sides get what they want.
There has been some speculation that the former Manchester United midfielder may still have a future with the Gunners, with manager Mikel Arteta having mentioned he is a fan of the player, but it appears the Armenian would rather stay in Italy.
