Arsenal Star Linked With Shock Move To Italy As Part Of £34m Deal

Arsenal could offer right-back Hector Bellerin as part of their bid to sign Merih Demiral from Juventus, according to Calciomercato.it. The Italian website claims the London club will need to match Juve’s €40m (£34m) asking price for the Turkish international and that could lead to a player moving in the other direction.

Reports in Turkey last month claimed that scouts from the Gunners watched Demiral and his teammate Caglar Soyuncu in action for Turkey in the Euro 2020 qualifiers against Iceland and Andorra.

The 21-year-old is currently on the periphery of Juventus’s first team, having played just once this campaign, despite having signed from Sassuolo for £16m only in July.

Demiral is reportedly keen to force through a move away from the Italian club in January, and it will be interesting to see whether Arsenal do make a move for the centre-back when the January transfer window opens.

It would still be surprising if Bellerin is included as part of any deal, with the Spaniard having been a key first-team player for the Gunners in recent years.
