Arsenal Star Joins West Brom On Loan

Arsenal forward Serge Gnabry will join West Brom on loan. The German’s chances at Arsenal have been limited in recent times, despite bursting onto the scenes at age 18. A loan move to The Hawthorns will give him the chance to play first-team football and hopefully develop his ability.

Gnabry, 20, is a Germany youth international but he has made just 10 appearances for the Gunners. A loan move will massively increase his chances of first team football, and he is expected to join WBA on loan until January with an option to extend his stay with the Baggies until the end of the season.

Gnabry arrived at Arsenal from German side Stuttgart for £100,000 back in 2011, and the winger quickly progressed to the reserve side. He was handed his first-team opportunity in Arsenal’s League Cup clash with Coventry City, a game in which the then 17-year-old impressed.

The German then looked set for a senior breakthrough in 2013-14 after scoring in a match away to Swansea. But a knee injury seriously halted his progress into the first-team, and Gnabry soon found himself back into the reserves.

The 20-year-old is clearly a player that possesses plenty of potential, and having being given a 5-year-deal at such a young age it is clear that Arsene Wenger has Gnabry set in his sights as a future star.

A loan move to West Brom will hopefully give the German the experience he needs in the first team picture, and should the move end in success for the player, we could hope to see him in an Arsenal shirt as soon as 2016.
