Apparently Arsenal might start negotiations with Barcelona in order to bring in Alexis Sanchez who is no longer keen on playing for the Catalans. Even though Walcott has done an amazing job playing in virtually the same position as Sanchez, Wenger still looks interested in the Chilean who just got knocked out of the World Cup at the hands of hosts Brazil. According to Metro, the 25 year old is also being monitored by Liverpool. It is hard to believe though that both teams will spend big bucks on a position which is already filled.

Even so Arsenal look a bit desperate to bring in an important player. Unfortunately for Wenger it will not be enough to bring in Sanchez if you consider almost a dozen players are set to leave. The Frenchman might have gotten away with signing only Ozil last season but will surely have to do things differently this season.

Apparently Sanchez will cost around £20 million which would not be a problem for Arsenal. The biggest problem is that Sanchez is most efficient played as a right winger. Walcott showed great quality during last season and if not for the knee injury he would have been one of Arsenal’s best players. Sanchez might come in as a second striker for Giroud who needs some help in front of goal. Hopefully something will happen before the end of the World Cup now that Chile are out of the competition.
