The 24-year-old, Morgan Schneiderlin has just finished his national duty at the World Cup with France courtesy of a 1-0 win by Germany in the quarter-finals last night. His consistent performances for the Saints last season helped him to sneak into Didier Deschamp’s World Cup squad.

His form also hasn’t gone unnoticed by many teams, with some top European clubs chasing his signature. Napoli are keen to do business with Southampton for their star midfielder and even new Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is eyeing a raid on his former club.

Arsenal have joined the race for his services and the north London side have readied a £20 million bid to tempt Southampton to part ways with Schneiderlin, according to the Express. The English outfit have already sold Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw and coach Ronald Koeman doesn’t want to lose any other player before bringing in a replacement.

However, Arsenal are ready to spend big to secure the signature of the midfielder, with reports indicating that £20 million will be sufficient for Saints to sell Schneiderlin.
