Arsenal Prepared To Offer 17 Year Old Gedion Zelalem Three Year Contract

Wenger has always been keen on working with youngsters like Fabregas, Wilshere, Gibbs and Ramsey. His latest discovery came to Arsenal in 2013 and has already made the Frenchman’s senior team list. Gedion Zelalem who is considered Arsenal’s new rising star will sign a three year deal which will allow him to perform next to Giroud and Ozil. The 17 year old midfielder is currently part of Germany’s U17 team where he made his first appearance back in 2013.

According to the Daily Mail, Zelalem who already got a chance to play for Arsenal’s senior team, has really impressed Wenger with his abilities. His first contact with first team football came after replacing Oxlade-Chamberlain during a game against Coventry City immediately after turning 17. The U17 German international even made the club’s history books as he became the first player born after Wenger took over Arsenal to be featured in one of the Gunners’ official games.


His talent was noticed by Wenger while performing in the U21 Premier League which also gave him access to the UEFA Youth League and the FA Youth Cup. His performances and abilities were also noticed by Wilshere who praised the youngster for his great vision and his great skill.

The English international also said that Zelalem has a great physique and excellent physical abilities despite just turning 17. According to Arsenal’s midfielder, technique and passing are his strong points which is exactly what a player of his profile needs to make it in the Premier League.

Zelalem will probably make his debut sometime next season as he is still a bit too young to be facing the likes of Kompany or Terry.
