Arsenal Player Ratings V Wolves: Three Players Get 8/10 While Six Others Get 7

Arsenal started like a freight train against Wolves on Saturday afternoon and they should have been out of sight before their opponents got back into the match via a Matheus Cunha goal late on.

Manager Mikel Arteta would have been pleased with the overall performance as his team maintained their lead at the top of the Premier League table.

Very few players had an off day at the weekend and the team looks to be playing particularly well at the Emirates.

Here are our player ratings for the 2-1 win over Wolves:

David Raya – 7/10 – made a decent save from Hwang in the first half but could do nothing for Cunha’s goal late on in the game.

Takehiro Tomiyasu – 8/10 – solid defensively and also came up with another assist. Could miss the Luton fixture with a calf injury.

William Saliba – 7/10 – didn’t really have to get out of first gear for most of the game, but did get a booking.

Gabriel – 7/10 – had a couple of dodgy moments (one where he allowed Cunha past him before making a tackle), but he was solid overall.

Oleksandr Zinchenko – 6/10 – saw the good and bad side of the Ukrainian, as his neat cutback found its way to Martin Odegaard to score, before giving the ball away in the build-up to Wolves’ goal.

Declan Rice – 7/10 – had one poor moment in the first half when he got caught out for Hwang’s chance but, other than that, he was very good at the base of the midfield breaking up opposition attacks.

Leandro Trossard – 6/10 – surprisingly picked ahead of Kai Havertz, and he didn’t do enough to justify his selection. Could have sealed the game with an opportunity late on.

Martin Odegaard – 8/10 – the captain is now back to his best having recovered full fitness. He showed excellent composure to score the second goal, whilst also causing problems with his superb passing.

Bukayo Saka – 8/10 – a constant threat for the Wolves defence. Finished well with his weaker foot for the opener, and was unlucky not to get a second.

Gabriel Jesus – 7/10 – the Brazilian may miss chances, but he is great at linking up play and the striker played his part in both of Arsenal’s goals.

Gabriel Martinelli – 7/10 – was always a threat when he was given a chance to run at Wolves right-back Nelson Semedo. Had a shot that hit the post.

Substitutes

Eddie Nketiah – 5/10 – hit the post with a chance and probably should have scored.

Kai Havertz – N/A

Ben White – N/A

Jorginho – N/A

Jakub Kiwior – N/A
