Arsenal Planning ‘Two Huge Bids’ Totalling 51M As Arteta Targets January Reinforcements

Arsenal have plans to recruit at least two players during the January transfer window, according to The Sun.

The English tabloid claims “two huge bids” for a holding midfielder and a winger are in the works as the Gunners look to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season:

Palmeiras’s Danilo has been targeted as technical director Edu looks to give manager Mikel Arteta more options in the middle of the park. It is believed that the 21-year-old could be signed for around £26m in the New Year.

The identity of the other signing has not been fully confirmed yet. The Sun claim that Arsenal are likely to target either Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino or Shakhtar Donetsk’s Mykhaylo Mudryk, with the hope being that either could be signed for around £25m.

That doesn’t seem to be a realistic estimate of their respective valuations, to be honest with you. Recent claims suggest Mudryk could cost as much as €70m (£60.6m) while Pino has an €80m (£69m) release clause.
