REPORT: Arsenal In Transfer Pursuit Of Barcelona-Targeted Wonderkid

Arsenal are set to continue their pursuit of Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Oscar Gloukh ahead of the 2024 summer transfer window, according to a report from FootballTransfers. Their scouts have been monitoring him closely, as he has been playing a key role in Salzburg’s title charge.

The Gunners could make a move for Gloukh in the summer. It is unclear as to how much the Israeli international will cost, but he is unlikely to be cheap. Salzburg have a strong financial standing – additionally, Gloukh is also under contract until 2027.

Moreover, Arsenal are not the only club who have been linked with a move for the 19-year-old. Barcelona are also thought to be tracking his progress – the Catalonian giants could prove to be an indomitable adversary in the Gunners’ quest to acquire Gloukh’s signature. That’s not all – Manchester United and Liverpool are also thought to be interested in the player.

What would Oscar Gloukh bring to Arsenal?

A highly-talented attacking midfielder with a growing confidence in front of goal, Gloukh looks like a number ten who is tailor-made for the Premier League. While he has a keen eye for a defence-splitting pass and possesses tight ball control, his movement off the ball also gives him the ability to beat defences and find himself in advantageous attacking positions.

His wide skill set also gives him the ability to play in more than one position. While he is primarily an attacking midfielder, his intelligent passing and workrate means he can seamlessly fit into a deeper, central midfield role.

This season, Gloukh has scored four Austrian Premier League goals – he has also racked up as many assists. He has also been impressive in the Champions League, scoring two goals and registering a single assist, even if Salzburg finished bottom of their Champions League group with just four points.
