Arsenal Open Contract Talks With Walcott!

The England international returned to action as a second-half substitute after nine months out with a knee injury in Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Burnley on Saturday. The forward’s contract expires after 18 months in the summer of 2016 and boss Wenger has revealed that Arsenal have begun negotiations over a new deal.

The 25-year-old currently earns £90,000-a-week and if he signs the new contract which will reportedly be offered to him, he will close to club record signing Mesut Ozil who earns £140,000-a-week.

According to the Mirror, Wenger said, “We are starting to sit down with him. I think he has one and a half years to go in December. It is never an easy job with him. It should be his peak years because he is 25. It’s the best years now, so hopefully we can profit from that.”
