Goalkeeper and Defence

GK – Aaron Ramsdale – 7/10 – an excellent long pass should have led to Reiss Nelson opening the scoring. The 25-year-old also made a fine save from Luis Diaz, but he could have done more for Liverpool’s first goal. He came out to punch and left his goal exposed before Jakub Kiwior put the ball through his own net.

RB – Ben White – 5/10 – Saka didn’t give him a lot of support but the fullback got exposed time and time again in the second half when Liverpool switched Darwin Nunez to the left flank.

CB – William Saliba – 7/10 – kept Nunez quiet in the first half, forcing the Reds into moving him out wide. Barring a couple of iffy moments on the ball, he was back to his best.

CB – Gabriel – 7/10 – had little to do in the first half but he was strong in one-on-one battles and was solid in possession.

LB – Jakub Kiwior – 5/10 – he struggled when Trent Alexander-Arnold put balls in behind him but the defender was unlucky to concede an own goal.
