Arsenal Looking To Sign Coleman

In a rather interesting story, according to the Mirror, Arsene Wenger is targeting Everton defender, Seamus Coleman who has said he is happy on Merseyside, but could be swayed by the allure of the big city and Champions League football not to mention a pay raise. Apparently Arsenal are willing to outbid Everton who are offering the 25 year old £30,000 per week. Coleman was also targeted by United who seem to have backed down since Moyes has been sacked.

Despite being under contract with Everton until 2018, the Irishman seems keen on moving to the Emirates. Wenger is in need of some new players to add important depth as the squad proved to be too thin for the Premier League this year. The right back was named in the PFA’s team of the year line-up and has had a great season plus he may welcome a change in scenery after spending 5 years with Everton.

The Toffees could come with a counter offer for Coleman who could be part of a long list of excellent young players like Ross Barkley to leave this summer. Everton will need them all if they plan on making an impact in any European competition next season.
