Arsenal Looking To Replace Bacary Sagna

Frenchman, Bacary Sagna has had some trouble reaching a new agreement with Arsenal who seem to be playing hardball. Despite being one of the Gunners most important and experienced players, Sagna was not given a long term contract as he expected. Wenger who has always been concentrating on young players, insisted he would like his fellow compatriot to stay as long as he accepts the one year extension offered to footballers who are over 30. Money could also be an issue as the defender has already been contacted by other clubs which will probably provide some considerable offers.

If Sagna does decide to leave Emirates, Wenger will have to quickly find a replacement as Jenkinson does not seem ready yet to become a decisive player in Arsenal’s game. According to Metro, Borussia Dortmund’s Lukasz Piszczek could be the perfect replacement for Sagna. The 28 year old Polish international who has been with the German side since 2010 is currently one of the most sought-after right-backs in Europe. He really made an impression last season and he is now a target not only for Arsenal but for Real Madrid and PSG too.

Lukasz Piszczek’s transfer might not be as complicated as some might think considering the 28 year old defender repeatedly hinted towards the fact that he is becoming frustrated with the fact that Dortmund is not capable of holding on to his star footballers. With Gotze gone and with Lewandowski following in his footsteps, Piszcek could move to London to fill in the empty spot left by Sagna who seems further and further from signing a new agreement with the club.
