Arsenal are one of five clubs interested in signing Stuttgart midfielder Orel Mangala, according to HLN (paywall). The Belgian publication reports that he is also being pursued by the likes of Roma, Lyon, Marseille and Lille.
The 21-year-old is currently playing in Germany’s second-tier but he has been tipped to excel at a higher level, having performed well for Stuttgart at the beginning of this season.
Mangala is valued at around €30m (£25.7m) by the Bundesliga 2 club after having started seven of Stuttgart’s 13 league fixtures. He generally plays as a holding midfielder, breaking up play and winning possession for his team.
The Belgian Under 21 international is likely being eyed as a potential replacement for either Granit Xhaka or Lucas Torreira; both of whom have been linked with moves to AC Milan in recent days.
Mangala has played in the top division before, having featured for Stuttgart regularly in the 2017/18 season but it must be said, he has limited experience at the highest level.
