Arsenal Look At Securing Defensive Midfield

Arsenal are looking at securing their defensive midfield position by monitoring the position of Christian Ladesma at Italian outfit Lazio, after the London based club lost more first team players to injury in the past few weeks, according to the Daily Mail.

The Gunners have now made it two wins in a row in all competitions, after the side managed to beat West Bromwich Albion with a winning goal from former Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck. To the relief of Arsene Wenger and Arsenal supporters, the England international got back to scoring ways for his new club, after hitting a rough patch without scoring for Arsenal since mid-October in their home draw against Hull City. With Chelsea dropping points against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light, all title challengers benefited through the weekend, and the club are just 13 points adrift the top spot.


Ladesma began his career at the famous South American club Boca Juniors as a youth player in 1997, and developed into a strong deep lying midfielder who was not shy of an the occasional shot from long range. In 2001 when it was time to make a decision on his professional career, the 32-year old moved to Italy, where Lecce were the ones to sign the Argentinian born player. In 2006 came an important move, and Lazio signed Ladesma on a long term contract, and he has played 282 league matches for the club.
