Arsenal will look to make a “record offer” for Valencia midfielder Yunus Musah if their attempts to sign West Ham captain Declan Rice end in failure, according to Fichajes.net.

The Spanish rumour mongers claim that the American international is being lined up as “plan B”, although he may not be much cheaper than Rice, as he could cost a staggering €70m (£62m).

Musah actually came through the Gunners’ academy before leaving for Valencia in 2019, but it seems they are keen on bringing him back to the Emirates.

Fichajes report that there will be competition for the 20-year-old’s signature, with both Liverpool and Inter Milan also said to be interested in the midfielder.

It should be pointed out that transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has mentioned that Chelsea have scouted Musah as well, so competition for his signature will be fierce. With Rice being Arsenal’s number one target, though, the American remains a backup option for the London club.
