Arsenal Legend Calls For New Manager

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour has admitted the club may need to change the manager if they want an influx of new ideas as Arsene Wenger is using similar techniques to his time at the club nearly a decade ago, aa reported by the Daily Mail.

Wenger is currently the longest serving manager in the Barclays Premier League, and has been successful with the club in the past. His tenure at then stadium Highbury began in 1996 when he left the Nagoya Grampus Eight and joined the London based outfit. The Frenchman was quick to deliver at his new club, and Arsenal won the Premier League and the FA Cup the very next season. The new millenium brought good times for the club, as Wenger created the invincibles side that won the league twice in close succession. However, the club hit a big barren patch after, and Wenger was struggling to breach the top two with Chelsea’s surge into the big time with Roman Abramovich.

Arsenal fans have always supported Wenger through the barren years, but some simply do not see any progress over the past few years. The manager has been sticking to one type of football over the years, and other teams are working around Arsenal’s system to nullify the same. Borussia Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp has been linked with the job, but is also on Liverpool’s radar if their season continues to fade away and Pep Guardiola has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the Gunners but would he want to leave an almost perfect set-up in Munich.
