Arsenal Join United In Battle For 18-Goal Ligue One Marksman

Arsenal are one of a number of teams keen on Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, according to reports in France.

Manchester United and Atletico Madrid are also keeping tabs on the former Celtic forward, with the former having recently contacted intermediaries close to the player.

Dembele only joined Lyon from Celtic last summer for £20m but he has made a real impact playing for the Ligue One side.

In 42 appearances this campaign, the 22-year-old has hit the back of the net 18 times despite not always being a starter for the French club.

Lyon manager Bruno Genesio has preferred to play Memphis Depay as a main striker on occasion this season, with Max Cornet, Martin Terrier and Bertrand Traore playing on the flanks.

Dembele has, however, capitalised when given his chance to impress.  11 of his 30 league games have been as a substitute, including last weekend when he came off the bench to score the winning goal against Bordeaux in a 3-2 win.
