Arsenal are interested in signing Hoffenheim playmaker Nadiem Amiri, according to reports in Germany.
The 22-year-old is also said to be on Tottenham’s radar, along with Bundesliga side Schalke. The trio of clubs could look to take advantage of the midfielder’s buyout fee which is €17m (£15m).
However, this will reportedly only come into effect at the end of the season, with Amiri having signed a contract extension last summer that included the clause.
The German Under 21 international has not played this season due to a foot injury but he is believed to be close to a first-team return.
Last campaign, Amiri played 33 games in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists, mostly playing in a central midfield role.
Head of Recruitment Sven Mislintat appears to be looking to Germany once again for new signings, with Amiri possibly being targeted as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey.
The Welshman is expected to leave the Emirates in the summer when his contract expires, with the likes Manchester United, Liverpool, Juventus and AC Milan all being linked with the midfielder.
