Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is “fine” despite missing training on Monday due to a foot injury.
The winger is expected to feature for the Gunners (most likely from the substitutes bench) when the Gunners take on PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday evening.
One player who won’t be involved, though, is Gabriel Martinelli who is currently sidelined with illness. It remains to be seen whether the Brazilian international will return for the game versus Brighton at the Emirates this weekend.
Emile Smith Rowe is back in contention after recovering from a knee injury. The midfielder has not played since the 5-0 win over Sheffield United in October.
Jurrien Timber is making good progress in his recovery from an ACL. The Dutchman was not expected to return before the end of the season, but it is believed that his rehabilitation is going well and there is now hope that he could make his comeback earlier than expected.
Updates on the fitness of 3 other Arsenal players
Fabio Vieira had surgery on a groin injury at the end of last month. Arteta has already said that the Portuguese international won’t be back before the winter break in late January.
Thomas Partey could, however, be available before then. The midfielder underwent surgery on a thigh problem in November and it is hoped that he will be ready for action at the beginning of 2024.
Takehiro Tomiyasu is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines. The Japanese international sustained a calf injury in the 2-1 win over Wolves, being forced off with 10 minutes left in the match.
It is estimated that he may be out until February, which means he will miss a significant number of games over the next couple of months.
