Gabriel Martinelli has a foot injury. The Brazilian was forced off during the second half of the 6-0 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane earlier this month.

Manager Mikel Arteta played down the seriousness of the issue at the time, stating in his post-match press conference that it was only a slight cut.

However, Martinelli subsequently missed the 2-1 win over Brentford last weekend, as well as the victory against Porto in the last 16 of the Champions League.

It has also been announced that Martinelli has withdrawn from Brazil’s squad for their friendlies against England and Spain. It means that the Gunners will be sweating on the player’s fitness in the build-up to their huge top-of-the-table clash against Manchester City at the end of the month.

Expected Return Date – Sunday 31st March v Manchester City
