Arsenal Have ‘Set Their Sights’ On South American Midfield Dynamo But He Could Cost 89M

Arsenal have “set their sights” on signing Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, according to Walfoot.be.

The Belgian website report that the Gunners have decided to switch targets away from Leicester’s Youri Tielemans and pursue the Ecuadorian international instead.

Caicedo has been linked with a number of other Premier League teams, including Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United, but it appears Mikel Arteta’s side are the likeliest to make an offer for the player at the moment.

Even so, the 21-year-old is unlikely to be available on the cheap. Walfoot claim that Brighton may demand “almost” €100m (£89m), a prohibitive valuation, which may suggest that the Seagulls are trying to put off potential suitors from tabling bids during the January transfer window.

Manager Roberto De Zerbi has spoken out about Caicedo’s future in recent days, stating he is keen to keep hold of the midfielder, in addition to Alexis Mac Allister, who is also attracting interest from the Gunners.
