Arsenal Have Opened Negotiations To Sign Belgian World Cup Star

Arsenal have opened talks with Dalian Yifang about signing Yannick Carrasco, according to Sky Sports.

The Belgian international’s agent has recently stated that his family is unsettled in China and are seeking a move back to Europe.

Carrasco joined Dalian last February for £27m from Atletico Madrid and has gone on to make 26 appearances for the Chinese Super League outfit, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists.

The 25-year-old played an important role as Belgium finished third at last summer’s World Cup, and would satisfy Gunners boss Unai Emery’s wish to sign a winger before the transfer deadline.

Arsenal were reportedly considering signing Inter Milan midfielder Ivan Perisic but the London club were unable to agree a loan deal with the Nerazzurri.

Whether they will be able to reach an agreement with Dalian over a temporary move for Carrasco, it remains to be seen. The Belgian has also been linked with Manchester United in recent months.
