Arsenal Handed Major Transfer Boost As Journalist Reveals 35 Cap German International Is “Tempted” By Move

Borussia Dortmund attacking midfielder Julian Brandt is “tempted” by the prospect of making the switch to Arsenal, according to Bild journalist Christian Falk.

The German, who has 35 caps for his country, is thought to be on the Gunners’ shortlist of targets, and Falk claims that the player is open to moving to the London club during the January transfer window:

“We know that the Arsenal scouts have already made important moves and the club is also actively discussing it in the dressing room. We also know he has connections [at Arsenal], youth director Per Mertesacker has the same agents as him, and he is a bit tempted to come to London. I could very well imagine it coming true.”

It appears as though Brandt is quickly becoming Arsenal’s priority signing this month, and the fact that he would be interested in making the switch to the Premier League will only add fuel to the fire about a potential bid.

The 24-year-old has struggled for game time this season, having started just six league matches, and it does seem Dortmund would be open to offloading him for the right price.

However, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the club need to sell before they can buy, so any approach for Brandt may well come late on in the window.
