Arsenal Handed Major Boost In Pursuit Of PSG Star

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot will leave the Ligue One champions at the end of the season, the club have confirmed.

PSG have been locked in contract negotiations with the 23-year-old, with his contract set to expire in the summer, but the player has told the French side that he will not be renewing his deal. Sporting Director Antero Henrique said:

“The player informed me that he would not sign a contract and that he wanted to leave the club by being free at the end of the season, ie at the end of his contract. For the player, this will have a very clear consequence: he will remain on the bench for an indefinite period.”

Rabiot will become one of the most sought-after free transfer signings of the summer with clubs able to sign up the France international to a pre-contract agreement as early as next month.

Barcelona are the firm favourites to snap up the midfielder, but Premier League clubs Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham are also believed to be interested.

Rabiot has been on the Gunners’ radar for a number of years, and with the departure of Aaron Ramsey on a free transfer, the chance to recruit a ready-made replacement without paying a transfer fee could prove tempting.
