Arsenal Handed Major Boost After Club’s Stance On 40M Midfield Target Is Revealed

Brighton are pretty much resigned to losing Yves Bissouma to either Arsenal or Liverpool this summer, according to the Sun.

Although publicly the Seagulls will make it clear that they feel the Malian international should stay for another year, privately it has been acknowledged that they need the money from the midfielder’s sale.

The south coast club’s finances have been hit by the global health crisis but the Sun say this won’t affect their asking price for Bissouma. Previous reports have suggested that the 24-year-old won’t be sold for less than £40m, and the newspaper has reiterated those claims.

It means it will be up to the Gunners to come up with the funds. The player is thought to favour a switch to the Emirates, but the competition from other clubs (which includes Manchester City) could lead to him moving elsewhere. The pressure is, therefore, on to get a deal in place as soon as possible.
