Arsenal Handed Boost As Journalist Confirms Club Are Open To Selling £27m Rated Playmaker

Algemeen Dagblad journalist Mikos Gouka has said that Feyenoord are very keen on selling midfielder Orkun Kokcu this summer in order to raise much-needed funds.

The Turkish Under 21 international, who has been linked with Arsenal and Chelsea, is believed to be looking to leave the Dutch club and Gouka says that while Feyenoord would like to keep their squad together, they are searching for a team who could take the 19-year-old off their hands:

“There is a lot to pay, Feyenoord says they want to keep [the] squad together. But Kokcu could bring in much-needed money. The question is who wants to deposit so many millions today?”

There had been speculation that the Gunners were prepared to pay up to £27m for Kokcu, with the playmaker being eyed as a potential long term replacement for Mesut Ozil.

However, it is likely that the London club have pulled back from making a formal offer for the player due to the financial pressures of the global health crisis. Reports in England have suggested that they may be limited to free transfers, loans and swap deals when the transfer window reopens.
