Arsenal ‘Close’ To Finalising Deal For £27m Rated Eredivisie Ace As They Look To See Off Challenge From Chelsea

Arsenal are “close” to sealing a deal for Feyenoord attacking midfielder Orkun Kokcu, according to Mundo Deportivo. The Gunners have been tracking the Turkish Under 21 international for a number of months and they are said to be prepared to pay between €20m (£18m) and €30m (£27m) for the player.

It is believed that Chelsea, Sevilla and Valencia are also interested in the 19-year-old, and Mikel Arteta’s side are looking to head off competition from rivals by securing the player’s signature.

Feyenoord’s sporting director Frank Arneson revealed earlier this month that there were four clubs, including Sevilla, interested in Kokcu with the player expected to depart the Eredivisie side after reportedly turning down a new contract.

The midfielder’s current deal expires in 2023 so there is no rush to sell him but the Dutch club are also said to be seeking funds to finance moves for new signings when the transfer window reopens.
