Arsenal Fans Seek Answers In Annual Meeting

Arsenal fans will seek answers to several questions in Thursday’s Annual General Meeting where shareholders will be given the chance to raise their concerns about the club, and owner Stan Kroenke will be subject to controversial questioning over payments to his private companies from the club, according to the Telegraph.

The supporters have been frustrated over the past few years over the lack of success by the club that once gave birth to the invincible eleven including the likes of Thierry Henry, Patrick Viera and Robert Pires. Since then, some players of that eleven left for greener pastures and some retired which gave the platform for players like Robin van Persie and Cesc Fabregas to step up and play at the highest level. Just when it looked like the club would build around the duo, both left for rival clubs, and Wenger was again left without the star players in the side. Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck have now given renewed hope to the fans, but the questions about lack of investment in defenders still looms over the supporters’minds.

Kroenke has been criticised by the fans over lack of investment, but the heavy expenses of building the state-of-the-art Emirates Stadium has had implications on the spending capacity of the club. The meeting on Thursday could lead to answers to several questions, including the payments which will need explaining.
