Arsenal Face Fee In Excess Of £10 Million For Highly Rated Defender

According to Inside Futbol, Arsenal will have to present an offer of more than £10 million if they stand any chance of signing the in-demand Red Bull Salzburg defender Martin Hingeregger, as suggested by the player’s agent.

Hingeregger began his career at Salzburg in 2006 as a youth player, and established himself as part of the setup for four years. He was then offered a professional contract for the Red Bull Juniors team to enhance his development, which he duly accepted. After just 13 appearances for the club, he was seen as a prospect for the senior team, and signed on for Salzburg. Since 2010, the defender has made 87 appearances for the club, with three goals to show for his performances.

The 21-year old’s agent has claimed that his client’s future lies in either the Spanish or the English league. The agent has also suggested multiple clubs have already asked for Hingeregger’s services, but said that Salzburg may not listen to offers below the £10 million mark. Manchester United are also said to be interested, and with Nemanja Vidic leaving the club, Hingeregger could be an excellent buy for David Moyes.
