Arsenal ‘Expected To Make An Official Offer’ For Turkish International Who They’ve Scouted For Over A Year

Arsenal and Porto are both “expected to make an official offer” for Le Harve left-back Umut Meras when the transfer window opens, according to Hurriyet.

The Turkish tabloid claims that the Gunners have been scouting the 24-year-old for a long time, having watched him before he made the switch to France last summer when he was still playing for Bursaspor.

Since then, the London club have continued to keep tabs on Meras, having sent representatives to see him in action for both Le Harve and Turkey.

Arsenal will, though, have competition for the fullback’s services with Porto keen on the player replacing Alex Telles, who they are looking to sell this summer.

The Brazilian has one year left on his contract at the Estadio do Dragao, and he has been linked with the likes of Chelsea, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Whether Meras would be keener on a move to the Premier League or Portugal, we shall have to wait and see.
