Arsenal Expect “Exceptional” Star To REJECT £120K A Week Contract As Fears Grow That They Could Lose Him THIS SUMMER

Arsenal have been taken aback by the contract demands of William Saliba, according to The Sun.

The Gunners have been locked in talks with the Frenchman’s representatives about extending his current deal, which expires at the end of next season.

An offer of around £120,000 a week is expected to be tabled but it appears that Saliba is unlikely to accept the proposal, with the player holding out for a much higher salary.

As things stand, the 22-year-old will be able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a foreign club in just seven months’ time so finding a resolution soon is critical.

Paris Saint-Germain could blow Arsenal out of the water with offer for Saliba

The Sun report that PSG are very interested in bringing the centre-half back to France and, with the Gunners “not prepared” to let him leave on a free transfer next year,  the Ligue One champions know they could get the defender for a low price.

It will, therefore, free up funds to propose a wage to Saliba that the Gunners may not be able to match. Manager Mikel Arteta described the Frenchman as “exceptional” back in March, but there is now a very real danger that the club could lose him this summer.
