Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham are all pursuing Leicester attacking midfielder James Maddison, according to reports in the UK.
The 26-year-old is set to leave the King Power Stadium after the Foxes were relegated to the Championship on the final day of the season.
Maddison was originally linked with the Gunners before they signed Martin Odegaard on a permanent basis in 2021 but fans on Twitter don’t think that the club should reignite their interest in the player now:
Really don’t want him

Sorry relegation drives his value down. 30 million at most.

His attitude suits spurs tbh

He doesn’t fit into any position with the way we play. Waste of time.

Ain’t nobody paying 40m for a relegated fella
— Joseph (@sejo113) May 29, 2023
£25m max.

Leicester reportedly want between £40m and £50m for Maddison, which is a pretty high figure considering they have been relegated and the playmaker has a year left on his contract.
The England international is a very talented player, having scored 10 goals and contributed nine assists in 30 league appearances this season, but you do feel that the ship has sailed in terms of a move to Arsenal.
Newcastle have been pursuing Maddison’s signature since last summer and you would have to think that the Magpies are his most likely destination.
