Arsenal are one of four clubs who are interested in signing Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare, according to Footmercato.net.
The French website claims the Gunners are “clearly in the running” for the 21-year-old, but they will face competition to sign the player. Manchester United are said to be keeping tabs on him, although the Frenchman is not believed to be a priority signing this summer.
One other Premier League side is also thought to be interested, although Footmercato don’t mention the club by name. Both Liverpool and Chelsea have been linked with Soumare over the past few months.
The fourth team is thought to be AC Milan, with the Rossoneri having talked about signing the France Under 21 international in recent weeks.
Soumare is thought to be valued at around £50m, and it’s likely that Arsenal are considering him as a potential alternative to Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey. The Lille star’s asking price would have to be significantly reduced, though, if the Gunners were to pursue the deal.
