Arsenal And Spurs ‘Express Interest’ In 45m Rated Croatian International

Arsenal and North London rivals Tottenham are among the teams who are keeping tabs on Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic, according to FCInternews.it.

The Italian website says the Gunners do “express interest” in the Croatian international along with the likes of Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Spurs.

Brozovic has a €60m (£54m) release clause but Inter are reportedly prepared to sell the 27-year-old if a club tables a €50m (£45m) bid. Ironically, that is the exact same figure it would cost to sign Thomas Partey from Atletico.

With Arsenal unable to match the Ghanaian’s release clause, it follows that the London club won’t be able to match Brozovic’s asking price either, unless Inter are prepared to take players as part of the deal or are willing to lower their demands.

The Gunners have been looking at potential alternatives to Partey, with Benfica’s Gabriel Appelt Pires the latest name to be mentioned, but it’s unlikely that Brozovic features high on their list of targets.
