Arsenal And Chelsea Both Scouting German International Fullback Who Has Scored 5 Times This Season

Arsenal are among the teams keeping tabs on Wolfsburg right-back Ridle Baku, according to reports in the German media.

The 24-year-old has been in good form, with his attack-minded mentality leading him to score five goals in 26 Bundesliga appearances so far this season.

Baku is also being watched by other clubs. London rivals Chelsea are believed to have sent scouts to see the German international in action, along with RB Leipzig and Villarreal.

Out of those teams, though, Mikel Arteta’s side are the ones in most need of a new right-back. Ben White has been deployed there for most of the season, despite being more comfortable at centre-back, while Takehiro Tomiyasu has had constant injury problems.

Baku could be a solution to Arsenal’s problems. The defender is equally capable of playing as a wingback and his ability to overlap may well make him an excellent foil for the likes of Bukayo Saka.
