Hector Bellerin has assured fans that Alexis Sanchez is 100% committed to giving his all to the club this season, despite being heavily linked with a move away from Arsenal during the summer transfer window.
It seemed almost certain that Sanchez would leave the club for Manchester City on deadline day, but the move fell through in the end – meaning that the Chilean will stay at Arsenal until his current deal ends at the end of the season.
Bellerin, however, says he is not worried about Sanchez’s performances in an Arsenal shirt – saying he knows the forward well enough to understand his levels of work ethic.
“Alexis is 100 per cent focused on Arsenal,” Bellerin told the International Business Times.
“He didn’t start (against Bournemouth) after returning from international duty.”
“But when he came on he has proved that he is 100 per cent and is going to be in every game.”
Arsenal have had a fairly tough start to the season, but things look to be on the way up following their win against Bouremouth. The Gunners begin their Europa League campaign on Thursday against FC Cologne, a competition they might fancy winning, before heading to Stamford Bridge on Sunday to face London rivals Chelsea.
Sanchez could be rested for the Europa League opener in order for him to star against Chelsea. Either way, let’s hope the forward can show us the form he has so often produced despite his wishes to leave.
