“A Decision To Make…” Journalist Claims Europeans Giants Could Tempt William Saliba Into Leaving Arsenal

Arsenal centre-back William Saliba would likely be tempted by a potential transfer to Paris Saint-Germain, according to CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs.

The defender has enjoyed an excellent start to the season for the Gunners, following his return from his loan spell at Marseille, but Jacobs believes a move back to France is something that the player would seriously consider:

“Compared to Martinelli and Saka, he’s [Saliba] only been back at the club a few months. He’s still coming to terms with a lot of voices in his ear. It’s not just Marseille, it’s PSG saying: ‘if you’re that uncertain or unsure about Arsenal, we can potentially bring you in’.”

“PSG are definitely still looking for defenders. I see no reason he would want to leave but the only caveat there is he did love living in France. If PSG did come in, it might give him a decision to make. Arsenal have confidence but there is a lot more concrete interest around Saliba.”

It should be emphasised that PSG have not registered their interest in Saliba at this point, but it is something that Arsenal supporters should be aware of.

The Ligue One champions are short of centre-backs, having sold Thilo Kehrer to West Ham and loaned out Abdou Diallo. With Sergio Ramos also nearing the end of his career, they will be in the market to strengthen their backline.

Saliba, meanwhile, has less than two years remaining on his contract at the Emirates and he has yet to decide whether to commit his long-term future to the Gunners.
