Arsenal are weighing up a move to sign Chelsea attacking midfielder Mason Mount for £60m, according to reports in the English media.
It was revealed last month that the Gunners had joined the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United in pursuing the 24-year-old and, with the player said to be no closer to signing a contract extension with his current club, a transfer this summer is looking increasingly likely.
However, the vast majority of supporters on Twitter don’t believe that Arsenal should be spending such a sizeable sum on Mount, with many feeling that there are better options out there:
That is …. way too expensive.

Emile Smith Rowe would do better. Please spend the 60 million elsewhere.

£60m is A LOT for someone who is reaching the final year of his contract but the high fee is not only due to the fact that he is English but also because Chelsea are reluctant to sell to a rival.
Whether they will be able to stick to their valuation if offers are not forthcoming for Mount, we shall see, but it seems Arsenal would have to pay a premium for his services currently.
