Arsenal were effectively knocked out of the title race on Sunday afternoon, as they fell to a 3-0 defeat against Brighton – pundit and Tottenham Hotspur fan Jamie O’Hara had plenty to say about the game on TalkSPORT.
Arsenal’s once-promising title hopes were dashed by Brighton at the Emirates Stadium. It was a disappointing showing by the Gunners, as they were both outworked and outplayed by an impressive Seagulls side.
On TalkSPORT, O’Hara said: “I’ve come on here and I’ve been respectful to Arsenal and Arsenal fans, but you did bottle it. The best thing that has happened to Spurs this season is that Arsenal are going to finish second – it’s as simple as that.
“Let’s not beat around the bush here. I’m overjoyed, of course! I’ve been sat there every week praying on teams to beat them. But that’s because I’m a Tottenham fan, that’s what I want, no one wants to see Arsenal be successful.
I’ve got absolutely no shame in saying it, [Arsenal] bottled it! [Tottenham are] shameful, but you still finished second in a one-horse race.”
O’Hara played for Tottenham between the years of 2005 and 2011, though he spent most of his time there away from the club on various loan spells. Outside of Spurs, he also played for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Blackpool and Fulham.
He had plenty of potential in the world of football, but failed to live up to the lofty expectations placed upon him. Now retired, arguably his greatest achievement in life came when he finished 8th in Series 19 of Celebrity Big Brother.
