Arsenal have been scouting Vitoria Guimaraes holding midfielder Ibrahima Bamba and his club may consider selling the player in January if they receive a “big offer”, according to The Mirror.
The Italian has only played 21 senior matches, having made his first-team debut back in February, but he is a very highly-rated young player who was called up for his national team at the end of last season.
Bamba is ostensibly a midfielder but Vitoria have also been deploying him as a centre-back this campaign and his ability to play in multiple positions may have attracted the Gunners.
It is believed that his asking price is £26.5m, which is pretty high, considering his lack of experience. However, Arsenal’s scouts have been sending back favourable reports and Vitoria have already been told by the London club that they want to be kept informed if offers from other teams are made.
Atalanta and Villarreal are also keeping an eye on Bamba so we shall have to wait and see what happens with the 20-year-old when the transfer window reopens.
