Arsenal’s Stance On Lucas Torreira’s Future Revealed With Uruguayan Set To Return To The Emirates

Arsenal will actively look to sell Lucas Torreira in the January transfer window if he ends his loan spell with Atletico Madrid prematurely, according to the Daily Star.

The Gunners are happy for the Uruguayan international to come back to the Emirates next month but it is believed that manager Mikel Arteta sees no future for the player at the club.

Torreira made just eight starts under the Spaniard last season following his appointment and it is said that the player’s wish is to move back to Italy where he had a successful spell at Sampdoria.

The Daily Star refer to a report written by the notoriously unreliable Todofichajes.com website which says that Torino and Fiorentina are the two teams interested in the 24-year-old but it is best to take those claims with a huge pinch of salt.

It remains to be seen whether Torreira actually does return to Arsenal next month but it does appear he has no future at the London club.
